Dance with live drums
Sabar dance, taught in pieces and then danced to a drummer who answers you.
Sabar is the drum tradition of the Wolof people of Senegal, played with one hand and one stick, and its dances are made to answer it. We teach the steps slowly, then dance them to live drumming, so you learn how a dancer and a drummer talk to each other. Some beginner classes are danced to recorded music, and the schedule says which.
